Christmas Appeal - Update
UPDATE
Thank you for your very generous support for our Christmas Appeal – a total of £1,788.94 was raised, which will be divided between the two charities.
For many Christians in Iran, celebrating Christmas is so dangerous that it must be done in secret.
But 7-year-old Anahita was so excited that she forgot about the dangers.
“We’re going to celebrate Christmas,” she told her schoolfriend, “with a lot of other people. We’re going to a beautiful house in the mountains outside Tehran.”
When Anahita recounted what happened at school that day, her mother turned deathly pale. Now Anahita lies awake at night listening – not for Santa’s sleighbells, but for the footsteps of the secret police coming to take her parents away…
Please give a Secret Child the gift they need the most this Christmas – the gift of hope.
For many of the Secret Children, Christmas is a time of fear, not joy.
With your support, we can reach out to help protect, strengthen and encourage children like Anahita – the most vulnerable victims of the persecuted church.
In Ireland, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) works to bring the truth of the gospel to children who may not go to church, and who will not hear about Jesus from anyone else.
Please support the work of Open Doors worldwide and CEF in Fermanagh, by making a gift through the collection plate at any time during the month of December.
Thank you.
If you’d like to receive an Open Doors daily prayer request by email, visit Open DoorsUK and go to Secret Children.
