St Mary's Church in Magheraculmoney Parish is located in the townland of Ardess. There has been a church on this site since the 14th century, with historical references dating back to 1622. The pre-plantation graveyard served both Protestant and Catholic families in the district for almost three hundred years until 1903. The oldest of the 433 marked graves bears the date 1679.
