Kesh Carnival Walk For Women
20 August 2008Twenty-three women set out from The Old Courthouse on an energetic walk around the Scenic Route in Kesh, in the Walk For Women organised by Ardess Women’s Group. Despite the damp conditions the enthusiastic participants had a very enjoyable time, making new acquaintances and catching up on news with old friends.
The walk took around an hour-and-a-half—the route marked out with encouraging wayside signs—and finished back at the Old Courthouse where everyone was glad to sit down and be served with refreshments…chatting and drinking tea for another hour-and-a-half!

Fishers of fish
27 May 2008A great day’s fishing was enjoyed by ten men from Ardess Parish on Tuesday 27th May. Setting off from Killybegs at ten o’clock they headed out about six miles stopping to catch mostly mackerel and pollock before returning to harbour late in the afternoon. Johnny Curtis, hooking over a dozen pollock and the only cod, was thanked (blamed!) by everyone else for his huge contribution to the total catch. It was a day of fine weather, good sport and great craic. Thanks to Alan and Phil for their organisation and expertise.
